Long Tail Boat up the River Kwai

Next adventure up: a long-Tail speedboat ride up the River Kwai. We rode through thick bamboo forests, saw lots of birds ( two kinds of eagles, bright blue kingfishers, egrets) and even went under a bamboo hanging bridge. Very relaxing and refreshing after our walk. We began to shed some layers. And in the van, on the way to lunch, Lada played some Elvis on the CD and we sang along. Bizarre to be in Thailand listening to Elvis but she says they love him here (too).





We also whizzed by a lot of very luxurious looking "float-els" along the river.





And there were elephants!
