Occupy Bangkok

After last nights farewell dinner, where we sadly bid goodbye to nine of our pals, we set off on an adventure with Lada. She said she would take us to see Bangkok's huge red light district, just a walk and a subway stop away from our hotel. But when we arrived we emerged into the sizzling atmosphere of a huge demonstration against the current government. This has been going on for weeks, and thousands of people had shut down a major intersection and were camping, listening to speeches, blowing whistles, and selling food and t-shirts and more. It was peaceful yet electric. We went into the crowd and moved around, got some t-shirts, and joined in the enthusiasm. It was very exciting, another kind of Real Deal.
